The Hayds is the Riverside-based dark indie pop brainchild of frontman and vocalist Joshua Muñoz, blending the romantic melancholia of The Neighbourhood, the dreamy atmosphere of Beach House, and the club-ready attitude of The Weeknd. Once a prominent name in the Inland Empire backyard scene, Muñoz proudly maintains that rebellious DIY spirit by rejecting genre norms and creating a fresh sound under the self-coined term “surfwav.”
