About
Maximiano’s music is almost never about just one emotion, moment, or person. It is about the way that experience flows and how music can express this growth and change. Riding waves of indie folk orchestration, Maximiano’s passionate voice conveys heartbreak, love, and vulnerability. Their lyrical style, heavily informed by their training as a writer and poet, combines evocative images and confessional lines to fit the balance of each song. The ‘sad’ songs don’t stray into despair and the’ happy’ songs don’t pretend everything’s fine. The result is a flowing, expressive sound that guides you on an emotional journey and unites performers and audience alike in the act of listening. Currently the project includes a core band of guitar, bass, drums, pedal/lap steel guitar, keyboards, saxophone, flute, and clarinet. Maximiano’s musical influences come from all across the genre spectrum. Americana, indie rock, folk, chamber pop, alt country, film scores, minimalism, maximalism… They all combine to form a sound that is governed by the ebb and flow of dynamics, the weaving of melody and countermelody, vocal harmonies, and a devotion to the truth of emotion: that it is ever-changing.
