The newest artist signing to Patrick Toppings legendary Trick label, Matt Hibbert is looking to follow in the footsteps of previous Trick alumni Schak, Hannah Laing & Ben Hemsley, and have a breakout year in 2024. Hailing from Birkenhead, Merseyside, with music hotbed Liverpool just a short ferry across the Mersey away, he has built a reputation in the famous city with his high energy DJ sets at the legendary city centre club Baa Bar. Matts track, ‘Move Ya Waistline’, became a staple part of Patrick Toppings sets and quickly turned into one of his biggest tunes and most requested IDs ever, leading to him signing it to his Trick in-print. Matt has self released over 30 tracks on his Bandcamp page over the last 2 years, amassing over 30,000 downloads in the process, further honing his now trademark pumping & energetic sound. Matts debut EP on Trick, ‘Move Ya Waistline/Share The Love’, encompasses his fresh signature sound, blending the pumping European sound of the late 90’s with classic house grooves, big drums that get you moving and even bigger basslines that get you groovin’. With huge support from Trick boss and founder Patrick Topping, Schak and Hannah Laing amongst others, and several further releases upcoming, 2024 is shaping up to be a big year for Matt, who has been christened by some in Liverpool as the ‘Birkenhead Ben Hemsley’, no pressure then!
