Coming up in the early-2010s noise scene of Montreal, producer Airick Asher Woodhead began Doldrums by uploading tracks to youtube melding ethereal vocals, noisy samples and live percussion. In 2011, Doldrums joined Grimes on a DIY tour of America and again in 2012 in Europe, and was featured on her album ‘Visions’. In 2014, Crystal Castles invited the band to open shows on their final tour. In 2015 Doldrums was signed to Sub Pop records, releasing “The Air Conditioned Nightmare”. In 2017, after spending 2 years in the studio, Doldrums released ‘Esc’, headlining tours in the US and Europe.
