Conexión Divina, now led by singer and guitarist Liz Trujillo, has gained notoriety for its sierreño style with indie-alternative undertones and authentic lyrics. Founded in 2022 as an all-female trio, the project quickly caught the attention of the Latin music industry, especially with songs like “Paso a Pasito” (featuring Gabito Ballesteros) and “Odio,” included in their debut album Tres Mundos (2023), which earned them a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist. Liz, 21, discovered her love for music during the pandemic, starting with covers on social media while she initially planned to study psychology. The new phase of Conexión Divina begins with singles like “Soy Rebelde,” a version of Jeanette’s classic that connects with Liz’s personal experience as a young woman who felt different from those around her.
