Lubbock Christian University’s Best Friends has represented LCU in national and international concert and worship venues since 1983. In 2013, the group began receiving international recognition as the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America (CASA) nominated that year's album to receive a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA). In 2019, Best Friends’ album "Risen" was awarded the CARA for Best Religious Album. In February of 2025, the album "On Our Way," received two CARA nominations for best religious album and best show-tunes song, bringing the nominations count to twelve since 2013.
