Bek Hyunjin

Bek Hyunjin is a singer-songwriter/painter/actor/film director based in Seoul, South Korea. His music career started in 1994 forming a legendary and experimental pop-rock unit “UhUhBoo Project” along with Jang Younggyu and Won Il. In 2008, he released his first solo album [Time of Reflection], which was selected as one of the 100 best indie albums in 2014. Eleven years after spreading his name as a painter, actor and a film director, Bek Hyunjin came back as a singer-songwriter with the second solo album [Light, Many] in 2019. The album includes 13 songs which he used to perform with three musicians: KimOki(Saxophone), Taehun Lee(Guitar), Sooyoung Chin(Piano) since the summer 2018 in hundreds of clubs in Seoul. Bek Hyunjin’s songs are stories in miniature. It has the atmosphere and the narrative components of a movie or dreams, but above all, they are songs. Thus, he tells us about pieces of life in which we could hum together along with his intimate tone. It’s like a cup of whiskey we drink every night, a deep breath mixed with dissonances and little laments.
