Luis Baquero, better known as Bakke, is a Colombian-American DJ and curator whose relationship with music runs deep—rooted in a lifelong obsession with rhythm, synths, and sonic storytelling. Raised in South Florida, his journey began at age 15 after early on being drawn to the rhythmic intricacy and analog warmth of 80s new wave, 90s hip hop and alternative rock. His style was further refined once discovering early 2000s electro and progressive house, ultimately channeling his focus toward the deeper realms of house and techno. With a signature ability to blend nostalgic textures with forward-thinking tracks, Bakke delivers sets that are as cerebral as they are danceable. His selections are intentional—bridging eras and aesthetics to create immersive narratives on the dance floor. A trusted resident of Miami’s legendary Club Space and a core member of the LinkMiamiRebels collective, you can catch him regularly playing alongside some of the world’s finest djs and producers. In 2024, Bakke launched his own event series, Bak 2D Future, a concept-driven platform dedicated to the exploration of timeless sounds—past, present, and future. Through this project and beyond, Bakke continues to evolve as a tastemaker and educator, committed to elevating the culture one record at a time.
