In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was obsessed with Disney Princesses as a toddler, especially Sleeping Beauty. My favorite song was “Once Upon a Dream” my parents have a VHS of me in my plastic tiara singing it at home. Lana Del Rey’s cover of that song healed something in me
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bright Eyes, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning Magdalena Bay, Imaginal Disk Taylor Swift, folklore Folklore came at the perfect time in my life. I listen to it in full on all my long drives, years later. Imaginal Disk is also what I consider perfection, a true no-skip album for me. Bright Eyes if I’m feeling particularly emotionally violent
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Unsolicited Bliss” “Unsolicited Bliss” will always have a special place in my heart. I wrote it during a long battle with writer’s block. My best friend reminded me that it was okay to write songs about things other than heartbreak and romance.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My first (and only so far) headline show in NYC. I’m based in Seattle, so I wasn’t expecting much of a turnout, but the place was packed on a Sunday Night. There were so many strangers singing my songs with me. That kind of feeling is unmatched.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s still so much left! The first thing that comes to mind is playing at a music festival outside of my home city. I’m also really looking forward to releasing my debut album at some point.
